Time and Tide
A touring art work to connect people with World War 1
This piece was created during the 100th anniversary of WW1 as a memorial to people who lost their lives on the home front. Focusing its study on events documented in Lancashire Archives, this artwork was made by Lisa Wigham in collaboration with the writer Sarah Hymas and senior archivist Vicci McCann.
During a series of book art and writing workshops with Lisa Wigham and Sarah Hymas, a group of participants researched family history and the impacts of conflict during WW1, examining documentation and reports from Lancashire Archives.
The Time and Tide project was supported by the Arts Council of England, Lancaster Lit Fest, Friends of Lancashire Archives and Lancashire County Council.
